2012 Helix [Stone Sculpture]
Material: Soap Stone
Helix is my first sculpture in stone. This work was made while studying at the College of Fine Arts. The stone used in this work comes from Mysore, a neighboring state of Bangalore, India, where the art school is located. This is also my first try at the substractive process (as apposed to clay’s additive process) of approaching a sculptural material.
This work was made without the help of any power-tools.
Helix was exhibited at the final group exhibition of bachelors students at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore, India in 2012.
